Summing up the problem, the water particles in contact with the outer layer of the vessel's GelCoat, try to cross this barrier and manage to reach the first layers of the hull's glass fiber and there begins a chemical process called hydrolysis, where the water begins breaking the molecular chain of the hull resin.

In this process there is the formation of residues that, subject to osmotic pressure, produce bubbles that appear on the outer face of the hull.
